Care without protection is incomplete. Cleaning and conditioning restore a material - but without a protective layer, the next rain, splash or stain undoes the work immediately.

Most waterproofing sprays on the market come in aerosol cans - pressurised, with hydrocarbon propellants. Many rely on PFAS or organic solvents. The TENO Protection Spray takes a different approach: a refillable glass bottle with a water-based, PFAS-free formula. More controlled, more precise, and without aerosol propellants.

Applied correctly, it reduces the frequency of cleaning cycles, keeps materials looking better between uses, and meaningfully extends the lifespan of the objects you care for.

The waterproofing industry has a problem - PFAS. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are synthetic chemicals used in most conventional waterproofing sprays to create water-repellent surfaces. They work exceptionally well. They also persist in the environment indefinitely, accumulate in living organisms, and are increasingly associated with serious health concerns. They are, in the language of environmental science, forever chemicals.

PFAS are not an obscure edge case — they are the standard in waterproofing. Choosing a PFAS-free waterproofer means actively choosing a formula that performs without that environmental cost.

The TENO Protector is built on a water-based waterproofing agent system - effective across all the materials in your daily life, without PFAS. It's a compromise in chemistry that we believe is non-negotiable.

Water-Based Waterproofing Agents
The active core of the formula - waterproofing agents that form a protective layer on the material surface, repelling water and resisting stain penetration without blocking the material's natural breathability.

2-(2-Butoxyethoxy)ethanol (Glycol Ether Solvent)
A solvent that supports the even distribution and adhesion of the waterproofing agents across the material surface - ensures consistent protection with each application.

Step 01 - Prepare
Always apply on a clean, dry surface. Complete the Clean and Care steps before protecting. Ensure the surface is fully dry before applying the protector.

Step 02 - Spray
Hold the bottle 15-20cm from the surface. Apply an even mist across the entire area.

Step 02.1 - Spread (leather only)
On smooth leather, spread any excess droplets immediately with a clean cloth to ensure an even film.

Step 03 - Dry
Allow to dry completely before use. For optimal protection, repeat the application and allow to dry for a few hours.

Step 03.1 - Restore texture (suede and nubuck only)
Once dry, brush gently with a suede brush to restore the natural texture of the nap.

Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes and skin during application. If eye contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children.
